Rodi Erickson Obituary

Rodi Claire Erickson (Mess), 28, of Marshfield, WI, a radiant light in our lives, passed away unexpectedly on April 18th, 2024. Her absence leaves a gaping hole in our hearts, but the warmth of her love and the memory of her beautiful smile will forever chase away the darkness.

Born on September 6, 1995, Rodi blossomed into the most incredible, selfless, and loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, auntie, and friend anyone could ask for.  Finding her soulmate in Brody Erickson, their love story began with a promise made to each other before God and their families on September 29th, 2017, in Appleton, WI.  Together, they built a life filled with laughter, unwavering support, and a love that defied definition.

Rodi's heart overflowed with a deep love for her children, Arlo Michael (5), Haven Rodette (3), and Kove Randal (9 months).  Being a mom wasn't just a role for Rodi, it was her purpose.  She nurtured her children with a love so fierce and boundless that it will continue to surround them.  This love was nurtured and championed by Brody, their partnership a testament to the strength and beauty of true love.

Rodi's faith was an anchor in her life.  An active member of North Ridge Church, she inspired others with her unwavering spirit and kindness.  When she wasn't showering her family with love, Rodi cherished spending time with friends, her laughter echoing through every moment.

Even in her passing, Rodi's selflessness shines brightly.  Her gracious gift of organ donation offers hope and healing to others, a testament to the beautiful person she was.

We are heartbroken by her loss, but forever grateful for the love she leaves behind.  Rodi is deeply missed by her husband, Brody, who will carry the torch of their love forward; her children, Arlo, Haven, and Kove, whose guardian angel she will always be; her parents, Randy and Rodette, who will forever cherish the daughter they raised; her sisters, Tiffany (David) Scherr and their children Jorja, Jalynn, Rayleigh, and Neveah. Samantha (Josh) Kumm and their children Greysen, Elsie, and Rhone. Chylee Mess and her children Nova and Amari. As well as her family found in marriage;  Parents, Mike and Leanne Erickson, Sue Erickson. Siblings McKenna, Brandon (Kelly) Erickson and their children Max, Ethan and Ava, and Brent and his son Jaxton Erickson, who embraced her as their own. She is further survived by her grandmother, Jean Mess;  numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and her dearest friends, Breana Lokre, Courtney Murphy, Brittney Braem and Zack Sternweis.

Greeting her at Heaven's gates are her grandpas: George "Diddy" Mess and John "Pops" Smith; aunt and godmother, Bonnie Long; Grandpas Sid, Stanley, and Leo; and aunt, Kathy.

The outpouring of love and support from our community and surrounding areas has been overwhelming in the best way possible. Rodi's kindness and compassion touched so many lives, and to see that reflected back in the way everyone has come together to support us during this difficult time would have brought her immense peace and happiness. The difference made by every single sent prayer, donation, and everything in between has made the thought of the Erickson children’s future without their incredible mother a little less heavy. In a world that can often feel harsh, this outpouring of love is a beautiful reminder of the good people who still exist, which is something Rodi would have been so delighted to see. We are eternally grateful for every one of you.

The family would also like to thank:  Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home, The Coffee Cabin, and every other business big and small who have set up donation hubs, organized gifts, and everything in between.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Monday, April 29th at North Ridge Church, 1021 W McMillan St., Marshfield, WI 54449. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the time of service at the church on Monday.

May Rodi's memory be a blessing, and may her light continue to guide us all. Remember to spend your time with those who matter, tell them you love them, and hug them like Rodi would, every chance that you get.
