Reed A Hardy

October 7, 1960 - January 15, 2012

Reed Alden Hardy, 51, of Auburndale, died Sunday, January 15, 2012 unexpectedly at his farm.

He was born on October 7, 1960 to Bonnie (Leo) Hardy in Milwaukee, WI, where he grew up. Reed attended St. Paul’s Lutheran School in West Allis, WI, Eighty-Eighth Street School in West Allis, Hamilton High School in West Allis and Auburndale High School in Auburndale.

Farming was his passion. He liked his Allis Chalmers tractors and collecting Allis Chalmers memorabilia. Reed was an avid Ford lover. If you didn’t drive a Ford he had plenty of jokes to tell you. He enjoyed collecting toy tractors, mustang car replicas and NASCAR toy replicas. Reed enjoyed going to farm shows and toy shows. He was the President of the Family Dairies for District II in Wood County and a member of the Farm Bureau. Reed enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Reed is survived by his wife, Cynthia, and his children: Lori (fiancé, Ryan) Hardy of Marshfield, Michelle (Kyle) Kearns of Auburndale and Christina Hardy who lives at home, two grandchildren who were his pride and joy, Jay Kearns and Kylie Kearns of Auburndale. He is further survived by his parents, Bonnie and Leo Hardy of Milwaukee, two step-brothers, Patrick (Nancy) Hardy and Douglas (special friend, Judy) Hardy, both of Milwaukee.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Karl Enockson, Wayne and Ceila Duerschmidt and Leo and Mary Hardy, Father-in-law, Roger Stoflet and two brothers-in-law, Dale Guldan and Randall Stoflet

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 1:00 PM at St. John Lutheran Church in Auburndale. The Rev. Terry Schneider will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, January 20 and on Saturday from 12:00 noon until funeral services all at the church. Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home in Marshfield is in charge of arrangements.
