Frank Schreiner Obituary

Frank L. Schreiner, 96, of Hewitt, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2024, at Stoney River Assisted Living in Marshfield, Wisconsin.

He was born in Prescott, Oregon, on March 31, 1927, to the late Louis and Frieda (Randel) Schreiner. When he was young, he moved with his parents back to the family farm in Stratford, Wisconsin. On January 24, 1953, he was married to Dorothy Schmidt in Decorah, Iowa.

Frank built his own home west of Stratford, then later moved to Hewitt. He delivered oil for Rock Refinery; and also worked for Har-Mac in Stratford, where he designed a houseboat that graced the cover of Popular Mechanics magazine. He then became a certified licensed commercial plumber, helping out with the building of all three of his daughter’s new homes.

He is survived by his daughters, Diane (Gary) Wiesman, Janet Lieders, and Karen (Jeff) Schwantes; grandchildren, Mardy Wiesman, Paige (Gaven) Schwarze, Erica (Jake) Reif; great-grandchildren, Hazel and Ivy Schwarze; and brother, Rupert (Marlys) Schreiner of Montana.

In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his sister, Louise Mews; and brother-in-law, Richard Mews.

A private ceremony and burial will be held, per his family’s wishes.
