Frederick Bittner Obituary

Frederick (Fred) Bittner was called home to the Lord on Saturday, July 4th, 2020.

Fred was born on September 10th, 1952 in Chicago, IL to Frederick F. Bittner and Wanda (Monikowski).  He was a graduate of Pittsville, WI Highschool.  He obtained an Associates Degree in Business from Mid-State Technical College.  He was a long time Weyerhauser employee until venturing out owning Derf’s Bar in Edgar, WI.  He also drove truck for many years which he really enjoyed; however his greatest accomplishment was being a loving brother, uncle, husband, father and grandfather.  He will truly be missed by everyone that knew him.

He is survived by wife Janice Reigel.  Children: Brooke (Max) Hawkins, Freddie (Cora) Bittner, Casey (Rachel) Wages, Stacey (Adam) Schlafke, Mandi (Frank) Weigel and Nikki (Brad) Gerdes.  Grandchildren: Abby, Alex, Molly, Lily, Myranda, Toni, Bailey, Caleb, Frankie, Jacob, Zachary, Dylan, Madyson and Kennedy.  Sister: Eileen Rios, Niece: Deb Sanchez and too many friends to list.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother, step-father, sister Estelle Irizarry (Cookie), brother-in-law Wilson, niece Char and son-in-law Eric.

Due to Covid-19 a Celebration of Life will be held privately with family.  As Fred would say, “Go Bears!”

A poem written by his beloved wife Janice:

You are my love and my best friend too

I miss you so much and don’t know what to do

The house is so quiet-not even a sound

I look for you but you’re no-where to be found

I call out your name and ask where you are

But you don’t answer-the silence has gone too far

The sun is shining in the beautiful blue skies

Yet the tears are falling like rain from my eyes

I needed you here to walk by my side

You promised you’d be here for the long ride

I know it wasn’t your fault and you didn’t want to go

But my eyes are still weeping and my heart is breaking so

You are my lover and my best friend You’re in my soul.
