Jacquelyn Lucille Weiser Cunningham, age 89, of Schofield, Wisconsin, passed away on July 6, 2020, at home surrounded by her loving family.
Jackie was born November 22, 1930, the daughter of Dr. Richard and Lynette (Baldwin) Weiser in Philadelphia, PA. She graduated from Jewett High School in Jewett, OH. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree from Mount Union College in Alliance, OH, and her nursing degree at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cleveland, OH. On March 13, 1954, Jackie was united in marriage to the love of her life Tom, in Jewett, OH.
Jackie worked as a registered nurse at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cleveland,OH; Park Ridge Tuberculosis Clinic, Park Ridge,IL; Bethel Convalescent Center, Vesper, WI and St.Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield, WI. In 1973, she and Tom moved to a farm in Pittsville, WI from Chicago, IL to start an adventure raising veal calves which they did for 7 years. Jackie and Tom enjoyed bike riding on trails throughout Wisconsin, family reunions and lots of laughter on the front porch of the farm.
Jackie accepted Jesus as her Saviour when she was 12 years old in the First Baptist Church in Columbia, South Carolina. She was involved in many churches throughout her life and most recently was a member of Faith Fellowship in Marshfield, WI. Known for her deep devotion to God and her family, Jackie served for 33 years by taking hope to listeners across the country through The Heartbeat of the Home radio ministry with her co-writer and sister in the Lord, Cynthia Ruchti. Prayerfully, she sought God’s word to answer listener requests and emotional, spiritual and relational needs. On behalf of the ministry, she mentored many with her personal words of encouragement. Jackie’s prayer ministry had and still has an impact on untold numbers of people who reached out to her for a word of wisdom, comfort, direction, affirmation, and help. That carried on long beyond the retirement of the radio ministry in 2012. She took seriously her commission by the Lord to carry hope and extend His love with her every breath.
Jackie is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas Cunningham, brother, Richard Weiser and parents, Dr. Richard and Lynette Weiser.

In lieu of any memorial donations or gifts, perhaps instead, you could send a note of encouragement to someone who needs it, just as Jackie has always done. Jackie’s grace, love and kindness will be greatly missed. Jackie’s family would like to thank the wonderful and compassionate care given by Interim Healthcare-Jane, Jennifer, Joy, Monica, Judy and Tim. Special thanks to Pastor Larry Sheehan and all who lifted Mom in prayer in her last days.
