Agnes M. Johnson, age 97, of Colby, passed away Wednesday evening July 7, 2021, at the Waterford in Colby.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 19, 2021, at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home in Marshfield with Deacon Ray Draeger officiating.  A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.  Agnes will be laid to rest in Maryhill Cemetery in Niles, Illinois.

Agnes was born on October 25, 1923, in Penetanguishene, Ontario, Canada, the first child of Napoleon and Delphine (Trudeau) Perrault.  When Agnes was 18 years old, she was sponsored by a family from Cleveland, Ohio, to come work in the United States.  She later moved to Chicago, Illinois, where she worked in a factory making airplane parts during WWII.  She also waitressed in Chicago for many years.  On September 5, 1951, Agnes was united in marriage to the love of her life Frederick Johnson.  Agnes later became a real estate agent.  She and Frederick would also buy, fix up, and resell houses in the Chicago area.

In her spare time, Agnes enjoyed playing cards, fishing, and traveling.  She and Frederick especially enjoyed visiting family in Canada for a couple weeks every summer.  They later bought a cottage on Granite Island in Parry Sound, Ontario, Canada, where they would spend most of their summers for many years.  After Frederick passed, Agnes moved to Sun City, Arizona.  There, she cherished the time she was able to spend with her mother, when her mother would come down from Canada and stay with her for a while during the winter months.  They would also travel together in Agnes’s fifth-wheel camper.

Agnes is lovingly survived by her brother, Raymond Perrault of Mundelein, Illinois; and her sister, Doris Gregoire of Parry Sound, Ontario, Canada.  She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces, and great-great nephews.

Agnes is preceded in death by her parents, Napoleon and Delphine; her husband, Frederick; and her siblings: Rose Gregoire, Theresa Eikeland, Bernadette Burgquist, and Edgar Perrault.
