Anton "Tony" Rakovec, age 73, of Hewitt, passed away peacefully in his favorite chair at home on, June 6th, 2025. Because he adamantly requested “No Hoopla!,” a celebration of life will be held at Scotty’s Pizza in Marshfield on Friday, June 13th, 2025, from noon to 2:00pm.
Tony was born April 11th, 1952, the son of Joseph and Mary (Debevec) Rakovec in Marshfield, WI. He was united in marriage to Donna K. Hebert. Together, they raised three daughters. They later divorced.
Tony began working at Weyerhauser at a young age, and enjoyed many years as a journeyman millwright at that location.
In his younger years, Tony enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding motorcycles. He made many fond memories camping and fishing up at Blueberry Hill resort Later in life, he was content to enjoy watching old westerns from his favorite chair at home. He also liked watching the Packers, following the weather, playing solitaire, and chatting with his girls, his siblings, and neighbors. Tony’s mechanical aptitude and ingenuity allowed him to frequently offer help to others. He was well-known for taking an idea and rigging up something useful. He was the trusted problem-solver and inventive fabricator, always relied on and deeply appreciated by those closest to him.
Tony is lovingly survived by his three girls: Jessica Rakovec, Rebecca (David) Rivera, and Anna (Lucas) Lamb. Grandkids: Casna and Kovec Lamb. Siblings: Joseph Rakovec, Theresa Rakovec, Fran Utne, Clara (John) Schiller, and Daniel (Sally) Rakovec. He will truly be missed.
Tony is preceded in death by his parents: Joseph Sr. and Mary Ann Rakovec; as well as siblings: Marie Gerl, John Rakovec, and Agnes Rakovec.
