Ardelle C. Vandehey, age 89, of Marshfield, formerly of Auburndale, passed away peacefully at Three Oaks Health Services, on Monday, July 11, 2022.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 201 W. Blodgett Street, Marshfield on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. with Reverend Dan Thelen officiating. Ardelle will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Auburndale, at 1:30 p.m. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Visitation for family and friends will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
Ardelle was born on May 14, 1933, to George and Helen (Raeder) Breu of Auburndale. She attended Auburndale schools while learning the value of hard work on the family farm with her parents and six siblings. On September 13, 1955, she was blessed in marriage to Lawrence J. Vandehey, with whom she spent nearly 30 years creating treasured family memories until his passing. Throughout their marriage, Ardelle was primarily a homemaker in raising eight children while also working outside the home in seasonal jobs. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery, and reading.
Ardelle is lovingly survived by her children: Sharon Vandehey of Marshfield; Maureen (John) Briggs of Winona, MN; Mark Vandehey of Middleton; Suzanne (Scott) Leibl of Marshfield; Michelle (Rick) Wiskerchen of Marshfield; and Laura (Rick) Doty of Eau Claire. She is further survived by her daughter-in-law, Linda (Phil) Casper of Wisconsin Rapids. She was blessed with 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren: Aaron Slaton, son Aiden; Joshua (fiancée Molly Kuckkahn) Slaton, daughter Jayley; Justin (Kayla) Vandehey, daughter Laura Ardelle and son Cameron; Jeremy (Molly) Vandehey, daughter Marguerite; Rachel (Jon) Demers, son Bennett and daughter Nora; Dustin Wiskerchen; Trevor Leibl; Taylor Leibl; Noah Wiskerchen; Madelyn Wiskerchen; Jonah Doty; Jordan Wiskerchen; and Jared Doty.
She is further survived by her sisters: Diane Breu, Mary Lois (Wallace) Linzmeier; and Bernadette Breu (Dave Helgerson).
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lawrence (1985); daughter Mary E. Vandehey (2010); son Lawrence G. Vandehey (1993); brothers George and Robert; and sister Kathleen “Mitzi” Dieringer.
The family thanks the staff at Three Oaks Health Services and Heartland Hospice for the wonderful care provided to our loved one and extended to her family.
