Arla Mae (Roggenbauer) Genett

Arla Mae (Roggenbauer) Genett, age 85, passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2021, while in the loving care of the House of the Dove in Marshfield.

Arla was born on May 29, 1936, to Max and Ann (Weis) Roggenbauer. She received her education at St. Andrew’s Catholic School in Rozellville. The family later moved to Marshfield where she took on various babysitting jobs. Her marriage to Kenneth William Genett was unique because they shared the same birthday. His being May 29, 1928, and hers May 29, 1936. Their marriage took place on May 29, 1954. She was a homemaker while her children were growing up and took an active part in raising her youngest sibling, Mary Lou. From 1977 to 1988 they owned and operated the Viaduct Bar. She enjoyed playing bingo, card playing and spending time with family. She was an active member of the VFW Auxiliary. She is survived by her four children Cheryl (Steve) Uthmeier, Linda (Jim) Curtin, Mike (Deb) Genett and Mary Jo Gagliano. Grandchildren Tracy Uthmeier, Michele (Nate) Lynch, Whitney Uthmeier, David (Sara) Curtin, Nathan (Amber) Curtin, Kenny Genett, Mariah Gagliano; great-grandchildren Cassie, Kiley, Mallory, Colin, Oliver, Addison, Taylor, Allison, William and step-grandchildren Emelia and Aubrey. She is also survived by her Sisters Jane Henseler and Mary Lou (Butch) Duerr. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Joyce Seitz and infant siblings Max and Sylvia.

A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
