Betty Lavaun Anderson, age 96, passed away at home on Thursday, May 29, 2025. Betty was born on July 4, 1928, to Murrel and Gertie (Hartley) Carver. She graduated high school in Steamboat Springs, CO, and went on to study nutrition at Colorado State University. Betty married the love of her life and best friend, Thomas K. Anderson, on the ranch in Elk River. She was a schoolteacher in Milner, CO, and was a rancher, carpenter, and was a property manager. As an adult, she lived in Steamboat Springs, CO, New Castle, WY, Edgar, MT, and Arpin, WI. Betty enjoyed spending time with family, reading, and traveling. She attended the winter Olympics in Seoul Korea and traveled to Alaska and Europe.
Betty is survived by sons: Ken (Bonnie) Anderson, Powell, WY, James (Mary) Anderson, Choteau, MT, Rodney (Jill) Anderson, Powell, WY; daughters: Tammie (Brad) Anderson-Gayman, Arpin, WI, Trisha (Scott) Langford, Edgar, MT; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas K. Anderson (2016); daughter, Twila Morgan (2010); son-in-law, Russ Baker (2017); great-grandchild, SvenTranstorm; parents, Murrel W. and Gertie Carver; and her two sisters.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Bread Barn in Arpin, WI.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on July 3, 2025, at Rockvale Cemetery in Edgar, Montana.
