Betty (Bettz) Lou Schmidt-Fellenz, age 77, of Wausau, entered eternal life on Saturday, April 13th, 2024, with her loving family by her side. Born June 7, 1946, in Marshfield, WI, to Dorothy (Nikolai) and Fred Schmidt. She attended Immanuel Lutheran School and graduated from Marshfield Senior High School. Married to Allen (Herbie) Fellenz, then later divorced.

Professionally, Betty was a dedicated certified Surgical Technologist working at various medical facilities and was a member of the Association of Surgical Technologists, and Fraternal Order of Eagles Ladies Auxiliary 624 of Marshfield. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, music, sitting by a campfire with friends, driving motorcycles, spending time with her grandchildren, and playing Wally Ball, a popular game she invented, with her sisters.

Betty is survived by her two children, Aaron Fellenz of Weston, WI, and daughter Jackie (Jason) Karau of Wausau, WI; 2 grandchildren, Shayne (Lizzy) Fellenz of Weston, WI, and Alyssa Karau of Wausau, WI; siblings, Bonnie Scheibe, Kathy Scheibe, Deb (Paul) Bouschack, Renee (Doug) Anding, Tom (Sally) Schmidt; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy (Nikolai) and Fred Schmidt; siblings, Jeannie Watts, Judy Brown, Gerri Koran, Barb Gutche, and Richard Schmidt.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM Friday, April 19th, 2024, at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home, in Marshfield. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral. A funeral luncheon celebration will be at the Eagles Club following the funeral services.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks to consider monetary donations to the family that will be dispersed to one of Betty’s chosen charities.
