Beverly M. (Lehnherr) Olson

Beverly M. Olson, age 87, passed peacefully with family on Saturday June 4, 2022 at Stoney River Memory Care in Marshfield. Memorial services for Bev will be held at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home, 1010 East Veterans Parkway, on Friday, August 12, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Mark Krueger officiating. Burial will take place in Hillside Cemetery in Marshfield. Visitation for family and friends will be one hour before the time of service at the funeral home on Friday.  

Bev was born on January 24, 1935 in Marshfield to Fred and Mary (Drackley) Lehnherr. She graduated from Marshfield Senior High School in 1952. In 1957, she married her life partner, Richard Olson of Marshfield and eventually settled back in Marshfield together in 1957 after Dick had worked as a pharmacist in Lansing, Michigan and Marquette, Michigan. In 1960, their only child John was born.

By the early 1970’s, Bev had taken a job as a Teacher’s Aide at Marshfield Junior High and worked there for several years before moving into a secretarial position with the City of Marshfield in the late 1970’s. Eventually, Bev became the Executive Assistant to former Mayor Marilyn Hardacre.

At home, Bev was an avid baker. Leading up to Christmas Eve, Bev would bake what would eventually become hundreds of dozens of different Christmas cookies for family and friends, neighbors and colleagues. As the final batches of cookies were coming out of the oven and others were being decorated, trays and plates of assorted holiday treats were assembled, wrapped and delivered.

In her retirement years, she and Dick volunteered in the community including their church and Soup or Socks on a regular basis. At home, the two had “his and hers” lawn mowers and would regularly be seen together mowing, weeding and pruning the trees, shrubs and flowers around the house.

Bev is survived by her son John (Ann) of Lakeville, Minnesota and her grandchildren Johannah Arndt (Ryan) of Crystal, Minnesota and Jeremiah Olson (Kenzie) of Olympia, WA, along with three great grandchildren, Lena Arndt, Freya Olson and Tova Olson. She is also survived by her brother Jack Lehnherr (Sandi) of Marshfield.  Bev was preceded in death by her husband Richard Olson, her parents Fred and Mary Lehnherr, her sister Lois, brother Robert and a grandson, Richard Scott Olson.
