Billie Tauschek, age 82, of Marshfield passed away peacefully after recently being diagnosed with cancer.
Billie was born November 7, 1942, the middle child of Maynard and Geneva Olson. At age 33 she attended NCTC in Wausau and graduated with a degree in nursing, all while raising her five daughters. Billie was married to Bob Tauschek in 1963 and later divorced.
She was employed at St. Joseph’s Hospital for 20 years in the pediatrics unit and peds ICU. In 1993 she moved to Las Vegas and worked as a registered nurse in Home Health-Utilization Review. She returned to Marshfield in 2005 to retire and spoil her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She enjoyed camping, gardening, playing card games, and watching Wheel of Fortune and 25 words or less. She also loved spending time up north at the cabin. She mostly enjoyed spending time with family and friends and cooking meals for all to enjoy.
Those who will cherish her memory include, Darla Spatz, Karen (Ed) Bach, Janice (Keith) Spatz, all of Marshfield, Rhonda Daul of Weston, Denise (Carl) Hirsch of Mosinee, special niece, Deb Edwards of Minneapolis, and special nephew Robert Edwards of Falls Church Virginia; brother: Danny Olson of Waterloo, SC; sister: Delores Edwards of Milwaukee, WI; 9 grandchildren: Derek (Amanda) Spatz, Mahriah (Travis) Spatz, Brian (Cassie) Tauschek, Heather Tauschek, Sam (Jamie) Spatz, Holly (Jesse) Spatz-Kohler, Kelsey (Logan) Lang, Carly (Cari) Hirsch, Michelle Hirsch; 12 great-grandchildren: Emma (Micha) Jensen, Clara Spatz, Sevrein and Odessa Konrardy, Bryanna and Bryce Tauschek, Lauren and Elise, and Charlie Spatz, Beckett and Drew Kohler, and Axel Lang.
Per Billie’s wishes there will be no funeral service. The family will have a private celebration of her life this summer.
If desired, memorial contributions can be made in Billie’s memory to Christine Ann Domestic Abuse Shelter, an organization she believed in.
