Bonnie Jeanne Howard

Bonnie Jeanne Howard, 76, of Marshfield, WI., passed peacefully early Monday, May 11, 2026 at the House of Dove in Marshfield. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00AM Thursday, May 21st at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home (1010 Veterans Parkway) in Marshfield. Visitation will be held at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home from 9:00AM until 11:00AM on May 21, 2026.

Bonnie was born on June 3rd 1949, the daughter of Walter and Louise (Stahnke) Post in Marshfield, WI. She graduated from Marshfield High School in 1967.

On November 12, 1967, Bonnie was united in marriage to the love of her life Jerald Howard in Marshfield, WI.

Bonnie was employed at JCPenney Co in 1979 as a Customer Service Associate and was employed with JCPenney for 30 years. Bonnie always had compassion for people which had flourished once she left JCPenney and started working for Wood County Human Services as an emergency foster home provider. Bonnie worked as an emergency foster care provider until she retired in 2013. Bonnie had gotten sober June,1990 and was sober for 35 years and was also a member of the Marshfield Alano club for many of those years. During those 35 years, Bonnie supported and helped many women in the 12-step recovery program.

Bonnie was known for her kindness, strength, compassion and care for her family and friends. In Bonnie’s spare time she enjoyed time with her family and friends, enjoying the cabin in Three Lakes, WI., photography, volleyball, horseshoes, scrapbooking, listening to Elton John and watching Hallmark.

Bonnie is survived by her loving husband: Jerald Howard; three children Todd (Bobbie) Howard of Marshfield, Torey Howard (Molly) of Marshfield, Trina Howard of Marshfield; 9 grandchildren: Tia, Bo, Chloe, Brandon, Ethan, Calob, Luke, Dexter, Ian; 8 great-grandchildren: Aubree, Lainey, Nova, Maya, Willow, Palmer, Piper, and Stevie; 5 siblings: Ronald (Sandy) Post of Marshfield, Robert (Gloria) Post of Marshfield, Richard (Sheila) Post of Marshfield, James (Rita) Post of Auburndale, and Dennis (Linda) Post of Marshfield; and many nieces and nephews. Bonnie will truly be missed.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents: Walter and Louise Post; Parents-in-law Robert and Nona Howard; as well as four siblings: Emilie Chesmore, Kenneth Post, Larry Post and Beverly Post; two sisters-in-law: Evonda Post and Virginia Scherr and two brothers-in-law: Gerald Chesmore and Francis Scherr.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at the House of Dove in Marshfield for their wonderful service and care they provided Bonnie.
