Bruce Stargardt, age 66, of Marshfield, WI, passed away in the early morning hours of Sunday, April 12, 2026, surrounded by the comfort of his own home. He was 66 years old — a life full of laughter, loyalty, and love.
Bruce came into this world on March 3, 1960, the cherished son of Paul and Joan (Schroeder) Stargardt, right here in Marshfield — the town he would call home for his entire life. He grew up with deep roots in this community, graduating from Marshfield High School in 1978 and carrying those bonds with him always.
Those who knew Bruce knew exactly where to find him on a good day — out on the lake with a fishing line in the water, or around a table full of friends, cards in hand and a story at the ready. He had a gift for making ordinary moments feel like something worth remembering.
Bruce leaves behind an enormous hole in the hearts of those who loved him most: his two sons, Travis (Bridget) Stargardt and Kyle Stargardt, and his beloved grandson Jay Stargardt, who will carry his spirit forward. He is further survived by his siblings Peter (Geri) Stargardt, Patti (Ron) Witt, and Donny Stargardt, and by his nieces and nephews Toni Stargardt, Paul Stargardt, Amber (Adam) Marciniak, and Autumn (Adam) Stargardt.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Joan; his siblings Dona Stargardt and Carl Stargardt; and his niece Susie Stargardt. He joins them now, reunited.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the Neighborhood Bar (600 W Blodgett St, Marshfield) — a fitting place to raise a glass, share a memory, and celebrate the man he was.
