Carol E. “Fuzzy” Harriman
January 11,1937 – July 21, 2024
Carol E. “Fuzzy” Harriman, age 87, passed away on Sunday July 21, 2024, at the Marshfield Care Center with her son, Thomas, at her bedside.
The visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and the Service will follow at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home, Marshfield. Pastor Brian Roberts will officiate. Pallbearers will be Mark and Tommy Harriman, Cory Strasser, Dennis and Norm Vanderhoff, and Mike Schroeder. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tiffany Barnes, Sara Strasser, Erin Harriman, Brooke Pflughoeft, Annette Vanderhoff, and Dawn Johnson.
Carol was born at home in Lindsey, Wisconsin, on January 11, 1937, to Edward and Viola (Bowdendofer) Nelson, and she went to school in the Marshfield area.
She was united in marriage to Corliss (Corky) Harriman on March 12, 1955, in Granton, Wisconsin. Together they brought 3 wonderful sons into this world. Later in life, Corliss and Carol divorced. Together they still raised their 3 sons.
Corliss later passed away. These boys were Carol’s pride and joy. As her proud sons would say, “there isn’t one thing our mother would not do for the 3 of us.”
Carol was employed at many different jobs through her time with us. Her last job was at the Marshfield Care Center, in which she worked for 25 years as a CNA and later retired from there. When Carol no longer could stay at home, she knew she wanted to go the Care Center in Marshfield. As she would say,” I have to take care of these people, I am here for a reason.” She was always a mother hen to all, and of course a little stubborn and bull headed; you would call it the typical Norwegian trait. Overall, she was the most caring person you can come across. She loved all her family. Family was everything to her.
She is survived by her children, Gary (Special Friend-Robyn), Thomas (Jody), and Richard (Janice) all of Marshfield. She leaves behind six grandchildren, Brooke (Chris) Pflughoeft, Tiffany Barnes, Tommy (Heather) Harriman, Sara (Cory) Strasser, Erin, and Mark (Chelsie) Harriman. Carol also leaves behind eleven great-grandchildren, Mckenzie and Shania Pflughoeft, Kaylee and Corey Barnes, Jordyn and Little Tommy Harriman, Chloe and Sarina Strasser, Tyrone, Aryena, and Liam Harriman. Two very close friends also known as family, Paul and Lucy Hobeck. God-children, Dennis Vanderhoof, Annette Vanderhoof, and Dawn Johnson. Three step-grandchildren, Michelle (Brian) Roberts, Becky Scipior, David (Janal) Sabatke; and six step great-grandchildren, Cameron and Kiki Roberts, Tayler and Blake Scipior, and Abigail and Trace Sabatke.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Viola; grandson, Adam Harriman; granddaughter, Kristina Harriman; and all of her siblings, Jerold, Ruby, Audrey, Nila, and Pete. One very special God-daughter, Penny Kampin.
Special thanks to Heartland Hospice, especially Miranda (Nurse) and Marshfield Health Services for the cares they provided to Carol through her stay with them.
Also a special thanks to her family, Gary (Robyn), Thomas (Jody), and Richard (Janice) for their special cares given and provided to Carol when she needed it the most. Fuzzy will never be forgotten, Forever in our Hearts.
