Caroline M Skaya

Caroline M Skaya entered heaven Sept 22, 2020 while under hospice care at Marshfield Health Services.

Caroline was born Dec 7,1936 to Wenzel and Julia Egner, Marshfield,WI. Caroline later married Lloyd Skaya Aug 16,1956 and together they had 5 children.

God blessed the work of Caroline’s hands as she enjoyed sewing, gardening, building, fishing, traveling and camping. She could create something beautiful and practical from very little.  She worked at St Joseph Hospital, Wisconsin Homes, & 30 years at Johnson Garment of which she was floor supervisor. Once in retirement she enjoyed entertaining others at the lake home as she cooked and baked enough to feed an army and no one ever left hungry.  Caroline’s faith in God carried her through life’s ups and downs and she encouraged her family to trust God, work hard and take time to laugh and enjoy life.

Caroline is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Lloyd Skaya and her children, Sheri Skaya, Audrey (Roger) Immerfall, Gary (Jane) Skaya, Mary (Mark) Umnus, Janet (Scott) Kleinschmidt, 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and a brother Paul (Grace) Egner.

Caroline is preceded in death by parents Wenzel and Julia, brothers Wenzel “Sonny” and baby boy Egner, sisters Dorothy Gessert, Elinore Frederickson and Loretta Egner.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Center City Church, Marshfield, October 1,2020 with visitation at 10am, service begins at 11am.  A memorial will be designated at a later time.

The Skaya family expresses great gratitude to all the staff at Marshfield Health Services for their compassionate care for Caroline and affection to our family. The family also is very thankful to Heartland Hospice Care for the care given to Caroline & telephone updates to Lloyd through the pandemic shutdown.
