Cindi Marie Bauer, 70 years young, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2025. Born on June 23, 1955, in Marshfield, WI, she was the daughter of Roy and Anna May (Jenkins) Schmit. The sixth of eight children, Cindi grew up in Marshfield and graduated from Marshfield Senior High.
She married her sweetheart and the love of her life, David Bauer, on July 16, 1977. Together, they built a home filled with love, laughter, and wonderful food. Cindi was a homemaker in the truest sense—so much so that she awarded herself the title of "Domestic Goddess." Living up to that title, she created an internet blog to share her recipes and home life with others. Cindi’s culinary talents were widely recognized; her recipes were featured in numerous cookbooks, magazines, and websites, including Taste of Home. She earned seven Blue Ribbons from Just a Pinch, where her recipes have been "pinched" 24,342 times to date.
When she wasn't busy being a "Domestic Goddess," Cindi truly enjoyed motorcycle riding with her husband and cherished every visit with her children, granddaughter, and grand-"fur" babies.
Cindi is survived by her husband of 48 years, David Bauer; her daughters, Wendy (Kerry Olson) Bauer, Jenny (Shennon) Richter, and Heidi (Josh) Butts; her granddaughter, Jaycee Butts; and her siblings, Christine, Susan, Linda, Kimberly, and John. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Anna May, and her siblings, Gary and Karen.
