Daniel Kress

Daniel "Goony" Kress, age 63, of Stratford, passed away on July 27, 2022, at Wausau Aspirus Hospital.

A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 10, 2022, at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home (1010 E. Veterans Pkwy. in Marshfield). After the Celebration of Life, there will be a gathering for family and friends at the Five-O-One Sports Bar and Grill in Marshfield.

Daniel was born on Feb. 20, 1959, in Marshfield, the son of Ernest and Anna Marie (Stockheimer) Kress. He attended St. Andrew’s Catholic School and Stratford Schools.

He was a dairy farmer; after farming, he worked various jobs and was last employed with H & S Manufacturing. He was an avid sports fan, following his favorite team, the Green Bay Packers. He also like to watch the Badgers, Brewers, and NASCAR racing. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing softball, bowling, darts, and card games.

Those who will cherish his memory are his siblings: Alex (Kathie) Kress, Pewaukee; James (Patti Swenson) Kress, Stratford; MaryAnn (Larry Scholl), Marshfield; Gerald (Gen) Kress, Mosinee; Anita (Steve) Kress-Wolf, Marshfield; Donald (Barbara Oertel) Kress, Stratford; Kathleen (Rodger) Petri, Auburndale; Dean Kress, Stratford; Walter (Shelley) Kress, Stratford; Roger (fiancee, Amy Martens) Kress, Arpin; Janet (Dave) Wink, Hazelhurst; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; along with many other relatives and friends.

Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, and sibling, Joseph Kress.
