Darrell A. Krause, age 82, of Stratford, passed away, May 17th 2023 at Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield. Memorial Services will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, May 27, 2023 at Community Bible Church (100 Fieldcrest Drive) in Stratford WI. Visitation will be held for two hours prior to service on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at Community Bible Church. Burial will take place at Brook Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Marshfield at a later date.
Darrell was born January 24, 1941, the son of Harold Krause and Myrtle (Paszek) Krause in Mosinee. On June 2, 1962 Darrell was united in marriage to the love of his life Maureen Sleck at the United Methodist Church in Phillips WI.
He was a member of Community Bible Church in Stratford WI.
Darrell worked in manufacturing and maintenance at several wood products companies throughout his career, before establishing Windy Hill Woodworking where he hand-built custom cabinets and furniture for customers throughout Central Wisconsin.
In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and hunting. He especially enjoyed traveling with his wife. Those that knew Darrell best will miss his wise advice, willingness to help, and his compassion for the underprivileged.
Darrell is lovingly survived by his wife: Maureen; children: Dawn Derfus and husband Rick of Marshfield WI, and Brian Krause and wife Ruth of Auburndale WI; siblings: Herman Krause of Superior WI, Roger (Teresa) Krause of Corpus Christi TX, and Susan (Dennis) Dupee of Pittsville WI. He is further survived by 4 Grandchildren Nycole (Brandon) Martinez, Tyler (Anna) Derfus, Nathaniel (Sierra) Krause, and Tanner Derfus; as well as 6 Great Grandchildren Wren, Ivy, Sophie, Cove, Riley, and baby Derfus due in October. He will truly be missed.
Darrell is preceded in death by his parents: Harold Krause and Myrtle Krause; as well as siblings: Melvin Krause, Sandra Catlin, Sharon Morse, and Shirley Galeazzi.
All memorials given in his honor will be used to continue his tradition of helping underprivileged children at Christmas each year.
