Darryl Le Voy Obituary

Darryl Duane Le Voy, age 69, went to be with his Savior on November 1, 2021, in Marshfield, WI.

A memorial service for Darryl will be at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home, 1010 East Veterans Parkway, Marshfield, on Friday, November 5, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Gary Holloway officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home on Friday.

He was born June 1, 1952, in Belvidere, IL, the son of Frank and Nellie Le Voy. He married his sweetheart Sharon Davenport on December 1, 1973. Darryl came to Jesus as a child and was baptized at 8 years old. His commitment to godly living grew throughout his life.

Darryl and Sharon moved to Wisconsin and began farming and raising a family. His priorities were always Jesus, family, and freedom. Darryl was not afraid to stand up for what he believed, even if it was not popular. Darryl was very generous and gave abundantly of his talents, time, and money when he saw a need. He found many ways to serve in his church from directing children’s ministries to serving as a deacon. Darryl was also intelligent and industrious, inventing clever ways to make difficult jobs easier and tackling projects that most would never dare, like building all the pews for Stratford Community Bible Church in the basement of his farmhouse, or designing and building farm machinery. To Darryl flying was the ultimate expression of freedom, so he became a pilot and enjoyed flying his small plane. It was also a dream of his to design and build his own plane. After farming and other undertakings, Darryl together with his wife, purchased a truck and contracted with FED EX. For a decade they traveled the U.S. and Canada together punctuating their adventures with visits home, often helping one of their children with their projects. In 2013, after spending the day helping a friend, he was traveling home on his motorcycle and hit a deer. He suffered a severe brain injury changing his life. His love for Jesus and family never wavered as he struggled to recover. Sadly, Darryl never fully recovered here on earth. He will be greatly missed.

Darryl is survived by his loving wife for nearly 48 years, Sharon and children Duane (Jodi) Le Voy of Lafayette, IN, favorite daughter Rebecca (TJ) Rees of Arpin, WI, and James (Leigh) Le Voy of Mazomanie, WI. He was very proud of all his grandchildren, Christina, Josh, Caleb, Micah, Peter, David, Elaine, Lily, Angelina, Titus, Ezra, Levi, Jubilee, Mercy, Baby D, Alex, Jeremy, and Paige. He is also survived by his brother Ramon (Debbie) Le Voy. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother David Le Voy and his half-brother Robert Le Voy.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the Grace Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 1011, Marshfield, WI 54449.
