David S. Deitchman, loving father, husband, grand and great grandfather, age 85, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024, with family present.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 24, 2024, 12:00 PM at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home (1010 E Veterans Pkwy, Marshfield, WI). Friends and family are invited to gather from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
Dave was born January 27, 1939, to Nora (Grancorvitrz) Deitchman and Doctor Morris Deitchman. Dave was raised in Marshfield and finished high school at the age of 17. Right after high school he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and spent two years on a MSB in the Pacific.
After returning home from the Navy he married his high school sweetheart, Maryann Hasenohrl. A few years later Maryann took ill and died. Later he married Janet Fuller-Lipscomb who was a nurse. Dave was a sergeant with the Marshfield Police Department, but spent most of his life working as a numismatic, traveling to shows around the U.S.
He is survived by children; Lori (Brad) Sandley of Marshfield, Mark (Deb) Deitchman of Phoenix, AZ, and Michelle Deitchman of Menomonie, stepchild; Jim (Patty) Fuller of Onalaska, WI, 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
The greatest tragedy of life not death, but what dies while we are living.
