David Ronald Herron Sr., age 74, of Marshfield, passed away early Friday, September 22, 2023 at Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield. Memorial Services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home (1010 E Veterans Parkway) in Marshfield. Visitation will be held at funeral home from 9:00 AM until the time of service on Wednesday.

David was born May 16, 1949, the son of Roy Sr. and Mildred (Schlick) Herron. He lived the first five years of his life with his parents and grandparents, Augusta and Frank Schlick. Our family then purchased a farm in the rural Neillsville area. There, he lived until he met the love of his life, Yvonne Stelter. They were married on May 20, 1967, and shared 56 years together.

Yvonne and David have six children, David Jr., Sheila, Annette, Amy, Sarah, and Amanda. He will surely miss them, along with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and all the good times shared together.

David worked on farms and did other types of jobs. His life centered around driving semi-trucks for many years. He ended his working career driving cement trucks for Sternweis & Sons. David worked there until his health no longer allowed him to do so.

He is survived by a sister, Michael Ann Thompson and was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; as well as his brothers: Frankie, Ricky, Larry “Gonzo;” and Roy Herron.

David wrote, “I will miss my family and many friends. I did so cherish all the years God has given me and has blessed my life by giving me time with all my family and friends. May we meet again …
