Obituary

Deborah 'Debbie" Sue Tornberg, 69 of Ironwood, Michigan passed away May 8, 2022 surrounded by family and loved ones, while staying with her daughter in Marshfield. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home in Marshfield is assisting the family with arrangements.

Debbie was born in Spokane, Washington on September 22,1952 to Romona A Harris and Richard M Reid II. She grew up in the Bessemer/ Wakefield area with her six brothers and sister who she loved very much and spoke stories of them often. She graduated from Cedar Lake Academy in May of 1969. From there she went on to work as a Nursing Assistant temporarily and studied LPN for a short time.

Debbie met and married Dale D Tornberg. The two had 5 children together. Three girls often referred to as the "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly," and two caring sons. The couple have been together for 51 years whether as friends or husband and wife.

Debbie worked many different jobs throughout her life. She enjoyed taking care of her family, tending bar, and working for the Lac Vieux Desert Casino in Watersmeet, MI. She enjoyed sewing, drawing, painting, anything that kept her mind creative. She loved words and learning the meaning of them. She was often found burying her nose in a book. She had a special gift to gab and loved telling stories to anyone who would listen. She was best known for packing her car as tight as she could with her kids and their friends and driving out to Lake Superior. Or just having a house full of kids, family and friends on any given day.

Debbie is survived by Dale Tornberg, Grandchildren: John Carli, Travis Moselle,  Gage Rappley, Regin Tornberg, Blaik, Jaysen and Jersey Kuhlman, Nate Radey, and Abby Bergmann Great-grandchildren: Damian, Araya, Vayda, Jacob and Miles Sister: Becky Blaha, AZ Brothers: Richard (Anita), CA  Ken, CA  Terry and sister-in-law Brenda( Delbert) Reid.  Numerous nieces, nephews, and kids her heart adopted along the way. Her children  Niki (Jeff) Rappley, Marshfield  Brian (Andrea) Tornberg, Marinette, Stacy,& Lisa Tornberg, Marshfield and Mike Tornberg. Porterfield.  Debbie is also survived by a very special friend and care giver, Phyllis Deyoung

Debbie is preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, brothers: David, Delbert "Bert", and Jeff Reid.  Brother-in-law: Joe Blaha, Nephew: Danny Blaha, and grandchildren Tait and Noah Tornberg 

In lieu of flowers memorial maybe given to House of Dove 1000 W 11th St. Marshfield, WI  54449 or to Compassus Hospice 303 W Upham ST STE 208 Marshfield, WI 54449 to allow other low-income families receive care. The family of Deborah Tornberg wishes to  thank Compassus Hospice for the care mom received. Miranna and Jackie were amazing as well as many others who helped provide care.
