Dennis Frome Obituary

Dennis R. Frome, age 74, of Marshfield, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 16, 2025. A Funeral will be held on Friday, August 22, at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 207 S. Cherry Avenue, Marshfield. Visitation will take place at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Brooklawn Memorial Gardens.

Dennis was born on August 15, 1951, in Marshfield, the son of Rueben and Mae Frome. He graduated from Marshfield Senior High School in 1969, then pursued further education at Fox Valley Technical College in Wisconsin and the University of California–Hayward.

Dennis spent many years in Oakland, California, where he owned and operated a successful courier and transport business. Later, he returned to Marshfield to be closer to his family and longtime friends — a decision that spoke to the importance of love and connection in his life.

A lifelong sports enthusiast, Dennis was a devoted fan of the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers, and Milwaukee Bucks — though he loved watching just about any game. Whether from his favorite local spot, Brown’s Bar, the comfort of his own living room, or his basement set up at his daughter and son-in-law’s house, Dennis could be found cheering at the TV with excitement and passion. His love for sports wasn’t just a pastime — it was a way to connect, share joy, and bring people together.

Dennis was a proud father to his daughter Tanya, and his love for his five grandchildren was at the very core of who he was. They were his greatest pride, his biggest motivation, and the joy of his life. He supported them in every way possible — attending their events, texting them to check in or cheer them on, and always offering encouragement. He bragged about them to anyone who would listen. Whether it was about a good grade, a sports win, a promotion, or simply who they were becoming. He looked out for them constantly, always wanting the very best for their future, and his love was a driving force that kept him going even through life’s challenges.

Dennis was a longtime member of Faith Lutheran Church, where his faith offered comfort and strength throughout his life. In his later years, he found joy in life’s simplest pleasures — a hot cup of coffee, a heartfelt conversation, and most of all, time spent with his family.

Dennis is lovingly survived by his daughter Tanya (Shad) Tenpas; and his grandchildren: Jacob Tenpas, Jade (Steven) Derus, Jared (fiancée Emily) Tenpas, Justin (fiancée Kate) Tenpas, and Jonah (significant other Savanna) Tenpas. He is also survived by his sister Kathy (John) Andersen and their daughters Kristin Andersen and Megen (Cory Johnson) Andersen; his brother David Frome and his children Danielle Zabel and Luke (Kayla) Frome; as well as many cousins, extended family members, and friends who were like family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rueben and Mae Frome; his sister Nancy Frome; and his brother John Frome.

Dennis was especially grateful for the lifelong support and companionship of his cousin Jay Wagner, his best friend Ron Brun, and for the close relationships he shared with Kat Vieth and Tracy Taubenheim — dear family friends who were like daughters to him.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the many friends, relatives, and healthcare staff who cared for Dennis over the past few years. Your love and compassion were deeply appreciated.
