Dennis Steven “Denny” “Wolfman” Jensen, age 70, of Marshfield, passed away after a long battle with lung cancer on July 24, 2024.

The memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 29, 2024, at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home (1010 E. Veterans Pkwy. in Marshfield). The Rev. Mark Krueger will officiate. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.

Dennis was born on August 5, 1953, in Marshfield, to the late William and Dorothy Jensen (Gabel).  He married his angel on earth, Dorothy “Dort” Fletcher, on April 9, 1973, in the midst of the snowstorm of a decade!

For over 50 years, Denny was in the transportation industry. Denny thoroughly enjoyed making his living through long haul trucking and made countless friends that later became family. Denny had a magnetic personality that made him a friend to many. His well-told stories are what made those friends become family. No one would be bored with the Wolfman howling! You could find him gathering with his friends and playing a round of Sheepshead or with his boys playing poker. He also thoroughly enjoyed his weekends muzzeloading with his cousins at the cabin.

He was most proud of the family he and Dorothy created and molded through the years. His children knew they could come to Denny with their troubles. He would grill them a delicious rack of ribs and give unsolicited advice. The true way to his heart was through his belly, so no wonder why he married Dort! He always worked hard and was frugal in his ways, from home repair to countless hours of cutting wood to burn for heat in the outside stove.

Unfortunately, this vibrant, full of life man fell victim to cancer in 2020. He fought a courageous battle. This man will forever be missed by the army that loved him. The family would like to thank the oncology department at Marshfield Clinic and Compassus hospice team for keeping him as comfortable as they could in his final months.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Dort) Jensen; his children, Steven (Tammy) Jensen, Kevin (Tammy) Jensen,  and Tonya (Joshua) Manning. He is further survived by his grandchildren, Kody (Teyanna) Jensen, Harley (Avery) Jensen, Austin (Hollie) Jensen, Natalee Jensen, William Jensen, Laycee Glover, Silas Manning, Kiptyn Manning, and Layken Manning. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren,, Harper Jensen, Waylon Jensen and Henry Jensen. He is further survived by his siblings, Dianne Jensen (Mike), Linda (Peter) Breu, Paul Jensen (Donna), and Matthew Mauer (Tina).
