Donna Arndt passed away Sunday evening February 11, 2024 at 3 Oaks Nursing Home with family members at her side.
Services will be at 11 am Thursday, February 15, at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home, Marshfield. Visitation will begin at 9 am prior to service at the funeral home.
Donna Mae was born Feb. 6, 1933 in Marshfield to Ferdinand and Helen (Mead) Thums. She graduated from Marshfield High School in 1951. On January 2, 1954 she was married to James H. Arndt. After graduation she was enrolled in the school of cosmetology in Wausau. She became a certified cosmetologist and worked as a beautician in Marshfield. She also worked at Clover Cream, John H. Keel Photography as well as seasonal work at Figi’s. She later became a certified teacher assistant for early childhood and development at Grant School.
A beloved homemaker devoted to family, she and Jim and family enjoyed 20 happy years at Connor Lake in Winter, Wis. Survivors include children: William (Nancy) Arndt of Marshfield, Lynn (Chuck) Jonas of Kona, Hawaii, Vickie (Michael) Greenwald of Marshfield, Daniel (Debby) Arndt of Winter, Timothy (Vickie) Arndt of Marshfield, Susan (Mark) Federwitz of Marshfield and Brian (Faith) Arndt of Marshfield. She was a proud grandmother of 19 grandchildren. She also loved hearing about the adventures of her 23 great grandchildren.
Her husband Jim died on April 19, 1996; daughter Ann on May 14, 1974. She was also preceded in death by siblings Robert Thums, Carol Guldan and Priscilla Schmidt.
An active member of Christ Lutheran Church, she served on its Altar Guild and Ladies Aid.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be designated to Christ Lutheran Church youth ministry and Sunday School, 1208 W 14th St., Marshfield.
