Douglas Mark Zschernitz

Douglas Mark Zschernitz, age 60, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, February 28, 2022 at Marshfield Medical Center with loved ones by his side. Funeral services will be held at Our Lady of Peace Church, Monday, March 7, 2022 at 11:00 AM with Father Doug Robertson officiating. Visitation will be held at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home in Marshfield from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Sunday, March 6, 2022 and again one hour prior to service on Monday, March 7, 2022 at Our Lady Of Peace Church. Burial will take place at Brooklawn Cemetery at a later date.

Douglas Mark Zschernitz was born August 30, 1961, the son of Melvin and Rose (Meissner) Zschernitz in Marshfield. He graduated from Marshfield Senior High School in 1979. On August 20, 1983, Doug was united in marriage to the love of his life MaryJo Weix at Our Lady of Peace Church in Marshfield. Together they welcomed two children, Jessica Zschernitz of Stevens Point, WI, and Tyler Zschernitz of Marshfield, WI.

Doug was a member of Our Lady of Peace Church in Marshfield.

Before his illness, Doug was employed at Wisconsin Homes in Marshfield.

In his spare time Doug enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, repairing clocks, four-wheeling and spending time with his family. Those that knew Doug best will miss his sense of humor, his laugh, and his zest for living life to the fullest.

Doug is lovingly survived by his wife, MaryJo : his children, Jessica Zschernitz (Tyler Murphy) and Tyler Zschernitz : grandchildren, Sam Denk and Sawyer Murphy : his siblings, Michael (Dorothy) Zschernitz, Jeff Zschernitz, Linda (Lee) Kumm, Cheryl (Don) Vick, Sandra (Keith) Hill, Tammy (Tom) Handrick, Tim (Carol) Zschernitz : his mother-in-law, Bonnie Weix : brothers-in-law, Jay (Colleen) Weix and Greg (Sara) Weix. He is loved so very much and will truly be missed.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents: Melvin and Rose Zschernitz, his father-in-law Paul Weix and his brother Randall Zschernitz.

Just a thought to see you on your way Doug.  There are no GOODBYES.... Wherever you'll be you'll always be in our hearts.
