Dr. Indira Rai

Dr. Indira Rai, age 45, passed away early Saturday October, 21, 2023 at Marshfield Clinic in Marshfield, WI. A Funeral /Memorial Services will be held 1:00 P.M. Monday October, 23, 2023 at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home (1010 East Veterans Parkway) in Marshfield, WI. Visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. on October 23, 2023.

Dr. Rai was born January, 13, 1978, the daughter of Capt. Parsuram Rai and Padma Rai in Balamta, Udaypur, Nepal. She graduated from Little Angeles High School in Kathmandu, Nepal.   On May 12, 2010 she was united in marriage to the love of her life Dr. Ram Babu Shrestha in St. Paul, MN. They have been together for almost 30 years of their life.

Dr. Rai started her medical career in Nepal in 2006 helping many underserved communities for few years before moving to Bronx, NY where she served the community for three years. Finally, she made Marshfield her home and has been providing medical care at Marshfield WI and surrounding communities for more than 12 years.

In her spare time she enjoyed reading, spending time with her two lovely daughters, traveling with the family, gardening and cooking. She especially enjoyed spending quality time with her husband. Those that knew Dr. Rai best will miss her smile, kindness, positive aura, caring and loving nature.

Dr. Rai is lovingly survived by her husband: Dr. Ram Babu Shrestha; children: Anika Shrestha (7 years) and Chetna Shrestha (3 years); siblings: Pradeep Rai (Nepal) and Ghanashyam Rai (Hong Kong); and mother Padma Rai. She will truly be missed.

Dr. Rai is preceded in death by her father: Capt. Parsuram Rai.
