DuWayne Shelley Obituary

DuWayne L. Shelley, age 76, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield, Wisconsin. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home in Marshfield. Visitation will be held at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home 9:00 am until service at 11:00 am. Burial will take place at Brooklawn Memory Gardens Cemetery, Marshfield.

DuWayne was born August 1, 1945, the son of Leon and Alma (Hildebrandt) Shelley in Milwaukee, WI.

He was united in marriage to Janice (Berdan) Shelley, they later divorced.

In DuWayne’ s spare time he enjoyed watching sports, listening to polka music and being outside, taking great pride in his immaculate lawn. He also enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. DuWayne and his granddaughter Jaden were always on some type of adventure together, they have a special bond that will live on in Jaden’s heart.

In DuWayne’s younger years, he enjoyed dairy farming with his father in the Richfield area. DuWayne was a “handy” man and enjoyed building and remodeling projects and did up until the past couple of weeks.

DuWayne is lovingly survived by his children: Rodney (Cindy) Shelley of Plover, Stacy (Kim) Luepke of Spencer, DuWayne (Jayne) Shelley Jr. of Spencer; Grandchildren: Jaden (fiancé Hunter Kundinger) Shelley, Karak Bushman, Miles Weber, Macie Weber, Leeah (Aaron) Zimmerman, Janalee (Robert) Wood, Courtney Shelley, Chad (Ashley) Shelley, Jessica (Wade) Sepp; Great-Grandchildren: Maddie, Dawson, Deklin, Alice, Dakota, Velo, Jasper, Cora, Hunter, Dominic, Alijah; and his sister, Jackie (Mark) King. He will be truly missed by his family and friends.

DuWayne is preceded in death by his parents: Leon and Alma; as well as siblings; Annette “Buzzy” Simons, Merlin “Sonny” Shelley, Erland Shelley, Carrol “Butch” Shelley and Cydel “Sugar” Boushon; and his sisters-n-law; Diane Shelley and Janice Shelley; brothers-n-law; Don Simons and Richard Boushon.

The family would like to thank the staff on 5 North for the compassionate care that they gave to our dad. We are so grateful for all that you did for him.
