Duane E. Jakobi

Duane E. Jakobi, age 85, passed away Monday, November 27, 2023 in Marshfield, WI. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 1, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 1010 E. Veterans Parkway, Marshfield, WI. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

Duane was born May 25, 1938, the son of Fritz and Meta (Anderegg) Jakobi in Spencer, WI. He married the love of his life Elsie (Boushon) Jakobi on September 6, 1958. Duane retired from Land O Lakes, Spencer in 2003. He loved to dance and to bowl. He loved Loretta Lynn, Conway Twitty, and Marty Robbins music. Duane was known by his siblings, nieces, and nephews as “Duke” and loved watching the Duke, John Wayne. He enjoyed reading Louis L’Amour books.

He dearly loved his family. He has 7 children, 16 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. Duane loved watching his children and grandchildren play ball. And was always there to give a word (or 2) of encouragement.

He has joined his parents Fritz and Meta Jakobi, uncles, aunts, brother Donald Jakobi, sisters Darlene Pischer and Doreen Boushon in Heaven. I’m sure that he has, also, been greeted by his cousin Jerry Sladek and good buddy Pete Nelson.
