Edward G. Wagner

Edward George Wagner, age 77, of Marshfield, Wisconsin, passed away late Sunday, November 24, 2024, at Marshfield Medical Center, in Marshfield, Wisconsin. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, November 29, 2024, at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home (1010 East Veterans Parkway) in Marshfield, with a visitation held at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Edward (Ed) was born on March 17, 1947, the son of Edward G. Wagner and Margaret E. Wagner (Cartwright) in the city of Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from the University of Central Florida in 1970. On March 7, 1975, he was united in marriage to Sylvia L. Ligocki in Merrillville, Indiana.

Ed was proud of his career in civil service, serving the people of the City of Marshfield, Wisconsin, and Wood County, Wisconsin, over the last 18 years and previously serving the City of Ashland, Wisconsin, for over 9 years.

Those who knew Ed best will miss his sociable nature, lively conversation and stories, as well as his passion for serving others.

Ed is survived by his wife, Sylvia; son, Geoffrey (Ashlee); siblings, Dale (Debi) Wagner, Sharon (Richard) Dunn, Douglas (Julie) Wagner. He is further survived by two grandchildren. He will truly be missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Edward and Margaret; and sibling: Michael.
