Elba L. Gonzalez

Elba L. Gonzalez, age 64, of Auburndale, passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at UW Hospital in Madison.

Memorial services will be held at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home, 1010 East Veterans Parkway on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation for family and friends at 9:00 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday at the funeral home.

Elba L. Gonzalez was born on August 13, 1958, in Guadalajara, Mexico to Alfredo De La Torre Gonzalez and Maria De La Luz Contreras.

Elba loved spending time with all her grandchildren. She lived for her grandchildren and her grandchildren love her very much. She was a very hard worker and taught her children, if they earned $5.00, they should only spend $.50. Earn everything they have and never cheat, lie, or steal. Her work and craft gave her the independence she always craved as a young woman. No matter how many times life pushed her down, she always got back up with integrity and finesse. She worked all her life in a manufacturing setting but truly enjoyed her last career, where she was the Cleaning Lead for Liberty Tire Recycling LLC in Auburndale, WI. She made a significant impact on everyone’s lives who worked there for the past 4 years. Her Chrysler 300 S was her favorite possession second only to her cell phones (3 total). She loved casinos and casino games on her phone. When she would get interned at hospitals the last year of her life, the first thing she would want anyone to do is find her phone charger and connect her phone to WIFI, so she could play casino on her phone. She always had a smile on her face and would give the shirt off her back to anyone that needed it or asked for it. Mom will be dearly missed by many.

Elba is survived by her children, Edgar R. (Libby) Gonzalez, Consuelo Y. Gonzalez (Brian J. Iacualla), and Bernard I. (Ashley) Gonzalez. Grandchildren, Daniel R. Gonzalez, Ethan E. Gonzalez, Ryan M. Gonzalez, Emily R. Gonzalez, Liam A. Gonzalez, Roman M. Gonzalez, Eli R. Gonzalez, Natalie G. Gonzalez, and Theodore S. Gonzalez.
