Evelyn Cornelia (Gorke) Rustad

Evelyn Rustad, age 93, of Marshfield, passed away Monday, December 28, 2020 at The House Of The Dove in Marshfield, WI. Evelyn was born May 5, 1927, the daughter of Edgar and Cornelia (Gorke), in Laona, Wisconsin. She graduated from Marshfield Senior High School in 1945. She married her sweetheart, Guy Rustad, on December 12, 1946. They were married for nearly 67 years before Guy’s passing in November 2013.

Mom was employed at various establishments in Marshfield including LeMoine Shoes, McCains Department Store, Woolworths, and Karaus Supermarket. She held these part time jobs while raising her eight children.

She and Dad moved to Bozeman, Montana in 1975 where she enjoyed the good life. She loved to bowl with her group of ladies and socialize by going to lunch. She also enjoyed crocheting afghans. Her and Dad moved back to Marshfield in 1987 where they enjoyed retirement. Mom worked part time at Rae Baxter’s.  They played in a pool league and took home the trophy many times.  Spending time with their best friends, Pat and Charlotte was always a highlight for them. Mom also loved animals. Always had at least a dog or cat in the house. After Dad passed away, she rescued a cat named Daisy who was her constant companion.

Mom had love in her heart for all her children; Del (Beth) Rustad, Marshfield, WI. and their children, Gerritt (Paula) and Cale (Christina) Rustad; Barbara (Bill) Blum, Weeki Wachee, Fl and their children, Brian (Carri) Blum and Jeff (Rachel) Blum; Donna Davis, Marshfield, Wi and her children, Michael Hughes and Kerri (Todd) Weberg; Vickie (‘Steve) Moreland, Tyler, TX; Robin (Rick) Miller, Bozeman, Mt and their children, Andy Miller, Denver, Co and Korri (Matt) Wendt, Bozeman, Mt ; Alan (Rita) Rustad, Springfield, Or and their children, Liana (Nate) Estes, David, Karissa (Eric) Kordus, Danae, Jacob Avila, Joel (Aubre) Rustad, Natalie and Olivia Rustad; Penny Kerr, Kronenwetter, Wi and her children, Samantha (Chris) Mohr and Melody Kerr; Gary Rustad, Brooksville, Fl. Along with 18 grandchildren, she also has 20 great-grandchildren.

Mom is preceded in death by her husband, Guy, parents, Edgar and Cornelia Gorke, siblings Alfred Gorke, Alvin Gorke, Iris Brickheimer, Angie Huebner and Adolph Gorke.

A Memorial Service will be planned at a later date.
