Gail “Yogi” Thalacker Gail Arlen Thalacker Jr. was born on March 3rd, 1957 in Crookston, Minnesota. He was raised in Chetek, Wisconsin, where he spent most of his life. Gail served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany in 1978. Once home from his service, he worked at Jennie-O Turkey Store in Barron, Wisconsin for 25+ years and was on the volunteer Fire Department for Chetek.
Gail, better known as Yogi to his friends, loved to go fishing, hunting, and camping. One of his favorite past-times was drinking coffee and playing cribbage with friends. He was also a die-hard Green Bay Packers fan! Go Pack Go! He loved to spend time with his daughters, Tabitha and Tiffany and their families. The true center of his world was his only grandchild and little buddy, Joseph.
He is survived by daughters: Tabitha (Edwin) Turner, Tiffany (Jordan) Thalacker; Grandson: ‘Little Buddy’ Joseph Turner; Sisters: Val Thalacker and Cheryl (Chris) Srozinski; Brother: David (Linda) Thalacker; Uncle: Neil Thalacker; and many other aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He is proceeded in death by his father: Gail Arlen Thalacker Sr., Grandma: Gladys Thalacker; Uncle Gene Thalacker and other aunts and uncles. A visitation will be held at the Chetek Lutheran Church from 3pm-6pm on June 18th, 2020. A celebration of life will be held at the Chetek VFW following the visitation. Please wear Packer attire if able.
