Germaine A. Pederson

Germaine A. “Gerry” Pederson, age 97, of Marshfield, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 19, 2023, at the Marshfield Medical Center, of congestive heart failure.

She was born on Dec. 10, 1925, in Marshfield, to the late Henry J. and Anna (Altmann) Felhofer.

After graduation from Marshfield Senior High School in 1943, she accepted a position with the Army War Bond Office in Chicago, Illinois, along with several other classmates.

In 1952, she returned to Marshfield and was employed as a secretary for Rollohome Corporation and Wick Building Systems. She retired from the Wood County Health Department in 1988.

On Aug. 29, 1958, Germaine was united in marriage to James L. Pederson, and they celebrated their 64th anniversary in 2022.

Germaine was a long-time member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary Post 1988, and served as its treasurer for many years.

She is survived by her husband, James; her sons, Thomas (Kathy) Pederson of Lodi, Wisconsin, and Brian Pederson of Marshfield; great-grandsons, Cole and Gino Loniello.

She is further survived by her sister, Carmen Reeths; nephew, Jay (Maria) Reeths; niece, Robin (David) Kammerer; and great-nephew, Alex (Tess) Reeths – all of Parma, Ohio.

In addition to her parents, Germaine was predeceased by her granddaughters, Lynn Pederson and Carol Loniello; and great-grandson, Tony Loniello.

A Celebration of Life for Germaine will be held at a later date.
