James Eugene Eisner, age 91, of Marshfield, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully in his home early morning on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2022.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2023, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church located at 201 W. Blodgett St., Marshfield, WI 54449.
James was born Oct. 31, 1931, to Frank and Olga Eisner in Milwaukee, Wisc. He graduated from Marshfield High School in 1949.
On Nov. 16, 1953, he was united in marriage to Dolores Iola Leatherdale at St. John’s Church in Marshfield. He was an honorary member of the Knights of Columbus.
He started working at the Adler Bakery until they closed in the early 1960s. Afterwards, he worked for John Koran at Airway Bar. Eventually, he worked for Paul Rogers (owner of Rogers Cinema); and finishing out with Marshfield Transit until retirement.
In his later years, he enjoyed gardening, feeding birds, and taking care of animals. He also enjoyed fish fry and social outings. James was always eager to help anyone in need.
James is survived by his sons, David, Harold and Gary; as well as daughters-in-law, Fran and Christine. Also, grandchildren, John, Nathaniel, Trey, Terrance, Kyle, Solomon, Methuselah and Robert. In addition, he had four great-grandchildren, Noah, Melody, Sheryl and Lillyana.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Olga; wife, Dolores; daughter-in-law, Roshelle; and sisters, Rita Ann, Carolyn and Marlene.
