James Lee Wirsbinski "Jim", age 90, of Marshfield, passed away on the morning of Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at House Of The Dove in Marshfield.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday November 10, 2025 at St John The Baptist Catholic Church in Marshfield. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until the time of Mass on Monday. Burial, with military honors, will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery (CWVMC) in Waupaca, WI.
Jim was born on April 13, 1935, in Mosinee, WI, to John M. Wirsbinski and Gladys (Bemis) Wirsbinski. After graduating from Mosinee High School in 1954, he proudly served three years in the U.S. Marine Corps, including time in Korea. On October 26, 1957, Jim married the love of his life, Margaret Ann (Marge) Noonan, at Our Lady of Peace Church in Marshfield.
Jim embodied the Marine Corps motto, Semper Fi—Always Faithful. He was deeply devoted to his wife and family, steadfast in his faith, and a source of strength to those around him. Curious and determined to the core, he sought out challenges and tackled them with enthusiasm. His relentless drive fueled a successful engineering career and led to seven patents along the way.
In his free time, Jim enjoyed early mornings spent fishing alone or with his grandson, and sunny afternoons swapping stories with friends and neighbors. His warm, outgoing nature and easy smile made a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Jim is lovingly survived by his wife, Marge; his children, Rick Wirsbinski (Atlanta, GA), Steve Wirsbinski (Chippewa Falls, WI), and Jamie Santoro (Evanston, IL); his beloved sister, Diane Parson (Mosinee, WI); and his grandson, Trevor Santoro (Chicago, IL), of whom he was immensely proud. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his younger brother, Buddy Lee Wirsbinski (Waupaca); and his infant daughter, Terri Sue Wirsbinski.
Those wishing to honor Jim’s memory are encouraged to make a donation to Never Forgotten Honor Flight (https://neverforgottenhonorflight.com), a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing veterans with the opportunity to visit their memorials in Washington, D.C., as a gesture of gratitude and respect.
