Jerry Saindon Obituary

Jerry R. Saindon, 88, of Marshfield, passed away on Monday, March 1, 2021, at the House of the Dove in Marshfield.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 12, 2021, at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home, 1010 E. Veterans Parkway in Marshfield, with the Rev. Dr. Laurie Brubaker Davis officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Hillside Cemetery at a later date.

Jerry was born Aug. 11, 1932, the son of Rodney P. and Carol (Trierweiler) Melbinger, at home in Marshfield. After his mother’s death, he was raised and later adopted by his aunt and uncle, Myles and Ella (Trierweiler) Saindon.

He graduated from Marshfield Senior High School in 1950. On May 30, 1953, Jerry was united in marriage to the love of his life, Sally Braem, at Trinity English Lutheran Church in Marshfield.

Jerry was employed at Roddis/Weyerhauser Company for 40 years, with various positions in the office.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed walking his Dobies, watching the Badgers, Packers and Chicago Cubs, especially when they won the World Series. Jerry especially enjoyed spending time with family, grandkids, and great-grandkids. Those who knew Jerry best will miss his sense of humor and his love of life.

Jerry is lovingly survived by his wife, Sally; children, Diane Saindon (Tom Huetter), Charles, Jon (Sue), Sara Rogers (Glenn Peterson), Paul (Jim Jinsky), Mark (Krisann); grandchildren, Danielle Saindon (Jeff Severt), Derek (Ashley) Saindon, David (Candace) Saindon, Alyssa Rogers (Ryan Reeves-Bayorgeon), Chelsea Rogers (Ron Ours); great-grandchildren, Malaya Reeves, Trey Severt, Graham Saindon and Jetta Saindon. He is further survived by his brother, Dick (Marilyn) Saindon; sisters-in-law, Marge Braem and Ev Melbinger; nieces; nephews; great-nieces-and-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rod and Carol Melbinger, Myles and Ella Saindon; brother, Rod Melbinger; grandson, Joshua Saindon; son-in-law, Larry Rogers; in-laws, Charlie and Helen Braem; Don Braem and Allen (Marge) Braem.

The family would like to thank the staff at Comfort & Recovery Suites and House of the Dove for their wonderful care of Dad in his last days.
