JoAnn Giese

JoAnn M Giese, 64, of Marshfield, passed away on Monday, November 15, 2021, at Marshfield Medical Center with family by her side.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Monday, Nov. 22, 2021, at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home (1010 E. Veterans Pkwy.) in Marshfield, with Pastor Mark Krueger officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Masks will be required.

JoAnn was born November 21, 1956, in Crandon, Wisconsin, to Joseph and Mabel George. She was adopted by Lillian Blonien. She graduated from Assumption High School in Wisconsin Rapids. She married Ron Giese on August 18, 1990, at Saint Phillip’s Church in Rudolph, Wisconsin. JoAnn was a nanny to four wonderful children for many years before owning and operating Pigs R Us Catering and Giese Concession with her husband for over 20 years. JoAnn enjoyed butterflies, flowers, hosting Packer and Nascar parties, decorating for every holiday, camping, and going for long walks around the zoo. She had a one of a kind sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. She was a gentle, kind-hearted woman, and she will be missed.

JoAnn is survived by her sisters, Carole (Harvey) White, Jeanette George, and Hazel George; sister-in-law, Tammy Blonien; and niece, Nicole Blonien; special nephew, Kevin White; cousins, Jody and Terry Fochs; many nieces and nephews; and extended family, Doctors Doug and Martha Lee and their children Kelly, David, Michael, and Christine.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 26 years; brothers, Gerald George and Jim Blonien; and special nephew, Jimmy White.

The family thanks the Marshfield Medical Center, especially nurses Mabel and Shana, and Wells Nature View Assisted Living for taking such good care of JoAnn.

A memorial will be designated to the Children's Miracle Network at Marshfield Children’s Hospital.
