Joseph C. Arneson

Joseph C. Arneson, age 68, entered Eternal Life on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

A memorial service will be held for Joseph at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home, 1010 East Veterans Parkway, Marshfield, on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Mark Krueger officiating. Joseph will be laid to rest at Hillside Cemetery in Marshfield following the service. Visitation for family and friends will be one hour before the time of service at the funeral home on Thursday.

Born on August 8, 1954 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield, WI to Christian and Kathleen (McGuire) Arneson, Joseph attended Marshfield Public Schools and was a graduate of Marshfield Senior High School.  During high school, he began his employment at St. Joseph’s Hospital and in 1977 graduated from the School of Histology and became a full-time employee with the Marshfield Clinic’s Histology Department.

Joseph lived life to the fullest- he loved to listen to music, he embraced various forms of art, and he was blessed with the gift to gab as he could visit with and engage in conversations with family and friends for hours at a time. Joseph was his parents’ primary caregiver for many years.

A lifelong member of Christ Lutheran Church in Marshfield, Joseph was predeceased in death by his parents, Christian and Kathleen, along with his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Joseph is survived by his only sibling, Paul (Elizabeth) Arneson of Marshfield, WI; one nephew, Christopher (Jessica Ferge) of Appleton, WI; one niece, Megan of Rochester, MN as well as several aunts, an uncle, and many cousins.

The Arneson Family would like to thank Joseph’s caretaker, Roland Hagen, as well as the staff members at the Marshfield Medical Hospital and Marshfield Health Services for providing such wonderful care.

The family requests that memorials be designated to Christ Lutheran Church in Marshfield, WI.
