Joseph “Bup” Lange Obituary

Joseph Leonard “Bup” Lange, age 81, of Marshfield, WI. passed away early Friday, July 29, 2022 at his residence in Marshfield surrounded by family. Per his wishes a Private Family Service will be held at a later date.

He was born September 21,1940, the son of Paul Lange and Elaine “Betty” (Ray) Lange in Luddington, MI. He attended Riverside School and graduated from Marshfield Senior High in 1958. He worked at Rollahome before entering the U.S. Navy. On December 20th, 1961 Joe was united in marriage to the love of his life Joann Wenzel in Wausau, WI. She preceded him in death in 2010.

After Joe’s honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy, he went to technical school and eventually became a union mason! After working for various contractors, he established Lange Masonry Inc. For the last 16 years, upon retirement, he worked for Cardinal Health and truly loved it.

In his spare time, he enjoyed watching the Badgers and his Packers. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, no matter what it was.  He never missed any of his grandchildren’s activities, they truly were his pride and joy! Those that knew Joe best will miss his stories, conversations (especially politics), his humor and his love of cooking.

Joe is lovingly survived by his daughter: Lisa (Randy) Johansson, Coon Rapids, MN; and his grandchildren: Lauryn of Coon Rapids, MN and Logan of Minnetonka, MN. He is further survived by his siblings: Paula (Don) Kieser of Unity, Judy (James) Herman of Marshfield, and many other family and friends. Joe will truly be missed by those that knew him.

Joe is preceded in death by his wife: Joann, his father: Paul Lange, his mother: Elaine Zopfi, his stepfather: Leonard Zopfi and his siblings: Marvin Lange, Janet Carl, and Gerry Derfus.

A special thank you to Miranda and the Heartland Hospice team. We couldn’t have gotten through this without you!
