Joyce Ohnesorge

Joyce Marlene Ohnesorge née Schroeder (88), died peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on January 2, 2021.

Born on April 24, 1932, in Chippewa Falls, WI, to Fred and Frieda Schroeder, she graduated from Chippewa Falls High School in 1950. She moved to Milwaukee, WI, to work as a long distance switchboard and teletype operator for the Wisconsin Bell telephone company. She married Ronald Ohnesorge on June, 20, 1953, and moved to Poynette, Janesville and then to Marshfield.

Joyce worked as a District Avon Manager for 16 years and later as a patient sitter at the St. Joseph Hospital in Marshfield, WI.  She was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Ronald Ohnesorge; children, Kathy (Bob) Grawien, Fish Creek,WI, Gary Ohnesorge, Marshfield, Karen (Randy) Hornick, Auburndale, WI, Rhonda Ohnesorge, Solana Beach, CA, Jon (Carrie Neumann) Ohnesorge, Hartford, WI; 7 grandchildren, Stacy, Cassandra, Carly, Christopher, Jared, Eric, Kayla; and 5 great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Luca, Isla, Eleanor and Vera; daughter-in-law, Melody Ohnesorge; and son, Nick Badtke.

Preceding her in death are her parents; her brothers, Alvin and Howard Schroeder; her eldest son, Larry Ohnesorge; and an infant grandson, Joshua Ohnesorge, 

Joyce enjoyed watching the Badgers, Packers and Golf, especially when Tiger was playing. Most likely, she will be found singing in the Country Music choir, playing cards or bingo in heaven.

A private family funeral service will be held at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home, Marshfield, WI, on Saturday, January 9, 2021, with Pastor Andrew Belt officiating. Visitation following, with Covid guidelines, will be from 1 to 3 p.m. at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home. Burial will take place at a later date.
