Joyce Ruth (Baumgartner) Wagner

Joyce Ruth (Baumgartner) Wagner, age 88, of Marshfield, WI passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 25th, 2022. A memorial service for Joyce will be held at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home in Marshfield, on Sunday November 13th, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. with Reverend Jamie S. Brei officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home on Sunday.

Joyce Wagner was born March 27th, 1934 in Chili, WI to Harry and Margaret (Reisner) Baumgartner where she grew up on a dairy farm. She graduated from Marshfield High School in 1952. She then moved to Rochester, IL where she was employed at Normington’s Dry Cleaners. After her children were grown she worked part-time at Marshfield Junior High and Marshfield News Herald. She was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church for many years. Her faith was very important to her. She loved to cook and bake, and prepare holiday meals for her family. She also loved walking and meeting with her friends for coffee. She could be seen walking all over town, as she put on several miles every day. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She especially loved babies. She was known for her kind and caring heart and always thought the best of people.

She married Gerald Wagner in 1958. She is survived by her three children, Julie Kramer of Marshfield, Tim Wagner (Francesca) of Montana, Jay Wagner (Sherri Witt) of Marshfield; her grandchildren Judah Burdick of Marshfield, Jedidiah (Nicole) Burdick of Ripon, Alyssa Wagner of Lake Zurich, IL, Amanda (Ethan Zavier) Wagner of Oak Park, MI, Diana Pinto of Bozeman, MT, Minerva Pinto of Philadelphia, PA, Jenifer (Lukas) Celis of Spencer, Jereme Neuendank of Tempe, AZ, and great grandchildren, Lauryn and Katelyn Celis, sister-in law Nancy Baumgartner, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Don and Carol Cherf, and many nieces and nephews.  

She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald, daughter Karlene, two brothers William and Wayne Baumgartner, and one sister Mae Frome.
