Karl Michael Lovstad, age 78, of Chili, passed away the evening of July 3, 2023, at the House of the Dove in Marshfield, Wisconsin.
Karl was born May 19, 1945, the son of Carsten and Doris Lovstad in Viroqua, Wisconsin. He graduated from Marshfield Senior High School in 1963. On September 5, 1970, he was united in marriage to the love of his life Judy in Chili, Wisconsin.
After graduation, Karl was drafted to the US Army and served in Vietnam. After his service to our country, he drove truck for W.J. Spry & Son of Chili and then SF Transport of Loyal, where he was awarded one million miles of safe driving. Karl and Judy then operated Harley & Elaine’s bar in Chili until their retirement.
In his spare time, he enjoyed stock car racing, snowmobiling, putzing in his garage on a wooding working project that Judy found in a magazine and knew Karl could make it. Karl enjoyed a well-manicured lawn, and you could find him on his lawnmower frequently in the summer. He also enjoyed lottery tickets, and scratched many of them, although no one ever really knew if he was a big winner or not.
Karl is lovingly survived by his wife, Judy; their children, Dawn (Tad) Krueger, Mike (Jody) Lovstad. Brothers and sisters-in-law, Ken (Karen) Lovstad, Rick (Ruth) Lovstad; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sonja (Burl) Dahl, Chris (Bill) Cliver; and sister-in-law, Judi Kampin. Grandchildren, MaKayla (Bryan) Brennan, Nate Krueger, Carsten Lovstad, Sawyer Lovstad, Jessie Rasmussen, Jenna Rasmussen. Great-granddaughters, Quinn Brennan and Vienna Brennan.
Karl is preceded in death by his parents; father and mother-in-law, Earl (Nobby) and Audrey Kampin; brothers-in-law, Ronnie Selk, Gerald “Walnuts” Kampin; and sister-in-law, Penny Kampin.
