Kathleen Brost Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing away of Kathleen Brost, 76, Marshfield. Kathy passed away at her home with family on November 5, 2023. A time of visitation will be held Thursday, November 9th, 2023 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home (1010 E Veterans Parkway) in Marshfield.

Kathleen was born on November 26th, 1946, in Marshfield to Henry and Alverna Poeschl.  She graduated from Marshfield High School in 1965 and then married the love of her life Glenn Brost on April 17, 1967.

Kathleen enjoyed spending time going camping with her husband until his passing.  She also enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, extended family, and friends. In addition, she enjoyed volunteering her time in the community and at Saint Joseph’s hospital. She has touched many people’s lives with the prayer cards she has made, cancer hats, mittens, gloves, scarves, preemie hats and hearts that a parent could add their scent to, so their littles ones could smell them until they got strong enough to go home.  She volunteered for church events, after school programs, and the women’s safe home.  She enjoyed card making and shared a lot of her cards she made with friends and family.

Kathleen is survived by her 3 children and 11 grandchildren, Frances (Kenneth) Felckowski and their children, Ben (CharlieAnn), Mac, and Emma; Glenn (Charlotte) Brost Jr and their children, Isaac, Olivia (Thomas), Patience, Ralph Henry, Samuel, Linus; and Stephen (Tiffany) Brost and their children, Kaydence and Gavyn

She is also survived by her siblings, Larry Poeschl, Kenneth (Patti) Poeschel, Howard (Nancy) Poeschel, Mary Jane (Dean) Panzer, Sandra (Robert) Gokey, Marlene Hallmeyer, Carla Jean (Dennis) Spindler, and Robert (Penny) Poeschel.  Along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband Glenn Brost, her parents Henry and Alverna Poeschel, her brothers Jack and Henry and her sisters Teresa and Charlene.

Our family would like to thank St. Croix Hospice staff for their wonderful care of our mom in her final days with us.  We would also like to thank mom’s friends and family who helped with appointments and spending time with mom these last couple of months.

A memorial will be designated in Kathleen’s name at a later date.

God saw you getting tired, and a cure was not to be.  So, he put his arms around you and whispered, “Come to Me”.  With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay.  A golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, he only takes the best.
