Kathy Boyer (Doescher), 67, of Chili, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September 14, 2025 at Marshfield Medical Center after a short battle with lung cancer.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home, Marshfield, WI.  Visitation will be held before the service from 9:00am to 11:00am.

Kathy was born December 30, 1957, the daughter of Clayton and Josephine (Budtke) Doescher in Marshfield, WI.  She attended Marshfield High School.  On September 6, 1975, Kathy was united in marriage to the love of her life, Milton Boyer in Chili, WI.  Together they shared nearly 40 years of marriage filled with laughter, love and devotion before Milt’s passing on August 31, 2015.  Their life together was built on love, family and simple joys leaving behind a legacy that continues through their children and grandchildren.

Kathy spent most of her life in the Chili community where her kindness, hard work and love for her family touched the lives of all who knew her.  Kathy worked as a bartender in her younger years at the Labor Temple and was known as the most efficient server on staff.  Starting in 1990 she worked for what is now called Dairy Farmers of America cheese factory in Chili as the favorite forklift operator known for unloading and loading the trailer in record time.  Her strong work ethic and steady spirit left an impression on everyone she worked with.  After retirement, her happiest moments were spent caring for her home, meticulously mowing her lawn, tending to her flowers and having the perfect recipe for her hummingbirds.  She was also quite the pool shark playing on several local pool leagues.  These simple joys reflected her love for her home and finding the beauty in everyday life.

Kathy is lovingly survived by her daughters: Nicole (Donald) Lang and their children Tessah, Taiya and Tevyn of Chili, WI; and Clorissa Schmitt and her children Kaylee and Keegan.  She is further survived by one brother Marvin Doescher.  Last but not least, she is also survived by her beloved dogs: Jimmy, Paco and Scooter, who brought her great joy and companionship.

Kathy is preceded in death by her husband Milton Boyer, parents: Josephine and Clayton Doescher, Step-Father James Mannigel as well as siblings Jerry Doescher, Marlene Greene, Clayton Jr Doescher and Doug Doescher and many wonderful nieces and nephews that she and Dad adored.

Above all, Kathy will be remembered for her devotion to her family and the countless ways she showed her love.  She was a proud mother and grandmother who never missed an opportunity to encourage, support and celebrate those she loved.

The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers, support, love and kindness during Kathy’s illness and final weeks. Special thanks to Marshfield Medical Center staff on 3N, 6N, 8N and Palliative Care for all the phenomenal care and the love they showed her and us.

Kathy’s family finds comfort in knowing she has been reunited with Milt, the love of her life, and they are once again together at peace.

Those wishing to express their sympathy are encouraged to do so.
