Kenneth J. Langreck, age 76, passed away at his home in Marshfield, WI on December 21, 2025. A Funeral Memorial Service will be held at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home, 1010 E. Veteran’s Parkway, Marshfield, WI with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM up until the time of the 11:30 AM service on Monday, January 5, 2026.
Ken was born in Marshfield, Wi at St. Joseph’s Hospital on December 26, 1948, the son of Edmund and Betty (Schnelle) Langreck. He attended primary schools in Marshfield, Wi and graduated from Marshfield Senior High School in 1968. Following High School graduation, Ken pursued a technical college degree as an electrician. He became a Union Electrician, a title he was very proud of attaining. His employment history was varied and wide ranging with jobs from Wisconsin to Wyoming. He worked on several major projects as an electrician, including the Marshfield Clinic expansion and the Old Main building remodeling at UWSP in Stevens Point. When Ken was 30 years old, he began working at the old Roddis Plant which had become Weyerhaeuser and then Marshfield Door Systems retiring after 34 years on the job in 2013. Ken said his work never changed, just the company name on his paycheck. He worked a lot of overtime and could be counted on to cover shifts for coworkers who needed time off for illnesses, family events and holidays.
In Ken’s spare time he enjoyed auctions, rummage sales, collecting WWII memorabilia, antiques, cars, and of course the Packers. He built and raced a stock car at Jamesway Racetrack and the Marshfield fair races. He enjoyed playing pool and was involved in local pool leagues. Ken also liked to play cards and had a biweekly game with childhood friends for several years. One of his favorite places to be, was the library where he researched his various topics of interest, attended author talks, book signings and learned to use the internet. Ken also spent hours walking all over Marshfield and could be seen anywhere from Wildwood Park to Hillside Cemetery, where he would visit the graves of departed family. Those that knew Ken best will miss his ironic sense of humor, kindness and unfailing generosity toward his friends and family. He always helped when asked but he never asked for help in return, even when he needed it the most.
Ken is lovingly survived by brothers, Les (Kate) Langreck, Onalaska, WI, Bob (Betty) Langreck, Marshfield, WI, Patrick Langreck, Chippewa Falls, WI, sisters, Carol (Bruce) McDougal, Antigo, WI and Cheryl (Chuck) Stanley, Stevens Point, WI. He is further survived by nieces) Megan (Andy) Wong, Jennifer Williams, Andrea (JR) Van Dyken, Catherine Fix, Delaney (Ryan) Heitkamp, Adelhaide (Sam) Ducatman, Samantha (Luke) Wolf, Kora (Jacoby) Stanley and a nephew, Shawn (Naomi Oskey) Langreck. Ken will be greatly missed by his grand nieces and nephews James, Olivia and Abby Picou, Sonja Heitkamp, Amanda, Jordan, Joel, Justin and Lexi Van Dyken, Maya Williams, Tristan and Lily Wolf, Alex and Andrew Wong and Elaina and Daria Ducatman.
Ken was preceded in death by his Parents, many aunts and Uncles and several cherished cousins and friends.
