Kenneth "Ken" Mitchell

Kenneth (Ken) L. Mitchell, 76, Auburndale, passed away August 12, 2020 at Aspirus Hospital. Per his wishes, services are private.

Ken was born March 15, 1944, in McGregor, IA to Sherman and Mary Mitchell. He married his soulmate of 57 years, Patricia (Zellner) on October 20, 1962 and was a father of six children. Growing up on the family farm instilled a work ethic that followed him throughout his life. Over the years he worked various jobs including tire service, welder, and milk hauler before dedicating over twenty years as an over the road truck driver. He took pride in safe driving and was honored as “Safe Driver of the Year” during his time at Dairyland Transport (WI Rapids). Ken enjoyed watching old Western movies, listening and dancing to music, taking his wife and children on ride-a-longs to see the country, spending time with family, and was always quick with a joke or humorous story.

Ken is survived by his loving wife, Patti, his children, Patrice (Patty) (Lee Weber), Carmen (Fred) Simonis, Kevin (Susan), Jerry (Pam), and Craig (fiancé Jody Meyer), grandchildren and great-children. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Vern, and grandson, Baby Ryan, two brothers, and four sisters.
