Kristin Lynn Anderson, age 69, formally of Mellen, Wisconsin, passed away on February 12, 2026, at North Shore Nursing Home in Marshfield, Wisconsin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am on April 18, 2026 at Holy Rosary Catholic Parish in Mellen, Wisconsin. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service at Holy Rosary Parish. Burial will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Highbridge, Wisconsin following the Mass.
Kris was born on September 21, 1956 to Robert and Agnes Anderson (Marita) in Ashland, Wisconsin. Kris had many health issues requiring her spending considerable time at the University Hospital in Madison for multiple surgeries and evaluations during her childhood. She was able to walk with a walker after and became as independent as possible. While the family was advised she would not live through infancy, Kristin not only survived, but thrived to the age of 69.
Kristin had a contagious smile and positive attitude throughout her life. Always observant and thoughtful, she saw the world differently from others around her. Although outgoing in nature, she reflected on the events around her and often surprised family and friends with her humor and insightful comments.
Kris attended Easter Seals camps for many years as a teenager and young adult. These annual events were very special to her. She attended the Laura Jean Zack Center, for the disabled, in Glidden, Wisconsin for 40 years and 4 months. The Center provided her with many friendships and activities with the other Clients. It also gave Kris much happiness, purpose, and value in her life. Kris touched the lives of so many who knew her. Kris loved sitting at the kitchen table on Loon Lake and watching all the wildlife activity outside and the cars go by to Copper Falls State Park. Despite being disabled she found much joy in life.
Kris lived in the family home on Loon Lake until February, 15, 2022. Due to declining health the decision was made to move her to North Shore Health Care in Marshfield, Wisconsin where she resided until her passing on February 12. Kristin was preceded in death by her mother and father, Agnes and Robert Anderson. She is survived by her siblings: Arthur Anderson (Timothy), Boring, Oregon, Mark (Mary) City Point, Roberta June (Floyd) Marshfield, Joseph Anderson (Debbie) Mellen, and Eric Anderson, Kaukauna, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Kristin's family would like to acknowledge and thank the wonderful staff at North Shore Health Center for the care, friendship, and love she received while in their care. The entire staff did an amazing job in caring for Kris the past 4 years, we will always be thankful for the care she received and all of you have a special place in our hearts for taking such good care of our beloved sister, Kristin, “with a K”!
